In the apparel world, if you can get a customer to try on your products, you more than double your chances of getting them to make a purchase. With this in mind, we created a way to get shoppers at The North Face to try on the latest snowboard and skiing gear by letting them pose in their own North Face big air poster dropping off of cliffs or hitting huge kickers. In order to look the part, shoppers would pose in front of a green screen backdrop on either a snowboard or skis wearing jackets, pants, hats, gloves and backpacks. The posters were downloadable and made to share on Facebook. How’d we do? Stores that held the green screen big air poster events all experienced 10 to 20 percent lifts in sales.
